| it absolutely boils my blood that Miss California was persecuted for exercising her right to freedom of speech which is guaranteed by our constitution. A judge [Perez Hilton] flat out said that she would have won the Miss USA crown had it not been for her opinion against gay marriage when asked during the competition.
First off, if she was supposed to answer in support of it, why was that even a question to the contestants cause then everyone should have had the same answer and I don't see how that would help the judges in choosing a winner.
Second, why is no one using legal avenues to challenge the results of the contest? Seriously, someone needs to stand up for what is right in this day and age and not necessarily always with a Bible verse written on a banner flying above them.
how can a revival of Christian morals even happen in this country when we can't even uphold the absolute most basic secular right of the freedom to our own opinion?

| i havent written in a while and somehow fashion week is the only that interests me enough to write about. I bought a documentary called "Seamless" that documents the process taken to choose the winner of last years cfda/vogue fashion fund award. It features the youngest and newest it designers that for me are very much where i hope to be in the near future. The guys of Proenza Schouler, Doo.Ri Chung, Alexandre Plokav of the now no longer existent Cloak, Derek Lam, and Peter Som.
For me, Ive always been very keen to see more Asian american designers in the American fashion industry cause while we our group still faces hardships and discrimination in many other aspects of American media and society, fashion is one of the few places that have embraced Asian Americans and not only that, we have become the new generation of taste makers for our country, which i think is probably more important than being in movies or something.
With established names like Vera Wang and Anna Sui, it has also been super exciting seeing newer designers Peter Som and Derek Lam who have become fashion superstars in the last couple years. Each with their own label while also being heads of Bill Blass and Tod's respectively. Also rising stars, Philip Lim, Doo.Ri Chung, Thakoon Panichgul, Alexander Wang, Jason Wu, Richard Chai (who once lead cashmere house TSE), and others.
anyways, for me its exciting, cause i want to join these ranks cause also it might be ironic, but in many aspects, race blurs here like in no other sector of our society.
as alot of u guys know, this is my dream and im taking millimeter steps towards it i feel, which i hope will soon become leaps and bounds. But the hardest part is seeing if this is part of God's plan for me. my desire for it i feel has some backing but what place would a christian have in this sex, vain, and greed filled world? if He does mean me to be there, I hope its something revolutionary, for my name, for His, for the future of the society we influence.
